Attentions on both sides of the divide seem to be elsewhere.

An Everton win is priced at 10/3 odds at the same bookmaker.

Gueye was not in action in the Toffees' 3-1 loss to Manchester City last Saturday after suffering a muscle tear during the worldwide break in March.

Liverpool will check on the fitness of Mohamed Salah after he suffered a muscle problem against Manchester City. Unpopular Frenchman Morgan Schneiderlin appears the most likely fall-guy from any change in style or personnel.

It's one of the biggest, most storied rivalries in England. Tom Davies would be the most likely option to shore things up, while Ashley Williams could return at the back after suspension.

Midfield does not look much better with Adam Lallana (hamstring), Emre Can (back) and youngster Ben Woodburn all out, while Salah's absence up front is a concern.

The reigning Africa Player of the Year victor however went off with a groin injury with fears he might not play against the Toffees.

The Reds boss has also hinted he'll rotate in attack with Danny Ings and Dominic Solanke coming in.

Jurgen Klopp gave little information away about the overall team injury status as he prepares for an early weekend Merseyside derby away at Goodison.

"People speculate that my reign at the end of the season will not be here. You poke the bear and you have to expect a reaction, so even at 3-0 I'm not sitting comfortably".

Steve Nicol says Liverpool's spot in the top 4 is secure so he hopes Jurgen Klopp runs out the reserves against Everton on Saturday. The Senegalese flyer has been overshadowed for long chunks of the season but has scored nine goals since the turn of the year, including two in his last two games.

"None of them were easy, especially in the preparation - it's always hard". We need to be ready for that, but it's a football game. "It leaves us even more in a situation to find it unusual", Klopp said.

"It is a derby game after all and it is an important game for the club and the supporters". We do the job and people have the dreams, expectations and ambitions.

After a disappointing and embarrassing outing against Manchester City last weekend, Everton are now pumped up for their clash against Liverpool this weekend.

"We want to be as big as them one day, but we are not quite there yet".
