Stressing that the BJP would not allow the prevention of SC/ ST atrocities act or caste-based quotas to be scrapped, BJP president Amit Shah said at the party's 38th Foundation Day rally at Bandra-Kurla Complex in Mumbai that BJP's "golden age" would begin after seizing power in West Bengal and Odisha, and securing a thumping majority in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

"But the it's the country which is seeking answers from you, four generations of Congress which ruled the country what have you done", said Shah referring to Gandhi's meet with Pawar after BJP's loss in UP bypoll of Phulpur and Gorakhpur seats.

"It is shameful. What else do we expect from them". Sometimes, it also takes a violent turn. We want to take benefits of economic growth to the poor and backward sections such as Dalits... It is the strength of the BJP that is affecting our opponents. They don't believe in democracy, they are fascist people. "Only a 'vatvriksha (banyan tree) survives and snakes, mongoose, dogs, cats and other animals climb to save themselves from the rising waters", Shah said addressing a rally in Mumbai on Friday. This was also important as one of Maharashtra's neighbouring states is Karnataka, where an election campaign is going on. Later, at a press conference, the BJP chief said, "I apologise if anyone felt bad, but I was only talking in the context of ideologies. Similarly, our PM has created fear within the opposition, which is now teaming up to fight the BJP in the election", Shah had said. The BJP and its senior leaders were virtually ostracized from prevalent political scenario.

The BJP chief's address was aimed at boosting the morale of party workers, who may be slightly confused over attacks on the party from various social and political quarters. Truth will always triumph.

"In the era of social media and communication, if we remain inactive, those anti-national, anti-social, selfish, wrong-doers will occupy that space".

He told BJP Karyakartas that elections are won or lost at the booth level, which is why it is important to have effective booth management.

The regional parties, on the other hand, given a lot of them are fighting for their very existence, access to monies and powers of patronage apart from a few honourable exceptions, will have no problem banding together.

Responding to the statement by Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad that the BJP was running away from discussing burning issues, Shah said he was ready for any debate on any issue, anywhere.

Two days ago, at a function in Delhi, Modi had said that his government had done more than any other dispensation to work for the betterment of the Dalit community and to honour its icon Dr BR Ambedkar.
