Buhari returns to Abuja after technical stopover at London

Presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu said the President is using a small plane and there is a limit to the distance the small plane can cover.

However, after it was discovered that the president's official Eagle One aircraft had landed in London on Tuesday without any official reason given to the public for two days, the presidency was forced to explain that the president was on a "technical stopover".

Mallam Garba Shehu has said the president's aircraft had a technical stopover in London.

"So the technical stopover I talked about is that the journey from USA to Abuja is broken into two". The plane can do Abuja-Washington, that's about 12 hours and the maximum the plane can fly is 12 hours, 40 minutes. This is very normal.

President Donald Trump of the United States had reportedly noted a "massive" corruption in Nigeria while commending Buhari for the effort of his government to fight graft in the country. "No wonder President Trump ordered him in a rather condescending manner to go back home and stop the killings going on in Nigeria!", Mr Obasanjo was quoted in a statement issued by his media aide, Kehinde Akinyemi.

"This is impunity and another constitutional breach".

"Indeed, Nigerians are anxious about the signal being sent out by this penchant for secret itinerary, particularly, given the poor reputation and governance transparency issues confronting our nation under the Buhari administration".

Former military Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon (retd) ‎has cautioned the National Assembly on the impreachment moves against President Muhammadu Buhari, adding it will not be in the interest of Nigeria.

Our correspondent however learnt that Buhari's scheduled trip to his hometown, Daura in Katsina State might have been cancelled due to the delay in his arrival back in the country.
