Rangers: Steven Gerrard out to emulate Jurgen Klopp style at Ibrox

RANGERS have completed their first signing of the summer after midfielder Scott Arfield penned a four-year deal at Ibrox.

Rangers announced on Monday morning that the 29-year-old had put pen to paper on a deal with the Ibrox outfit.

"I go this time with the supporters' blessing and everyone within the club's blessing because they see the opportunity, they see the size of Glasgow Rangers and how hard it would have been where I was to turn down".

"When you look at the style of football that Juergen Klopp plays, I think every fan in the world loves watching that", Gerrard said in a Question and Answer session in Dubai as part of a Liverpool club function. We'll see where it's going to take us.

Arfield, who is Gerrard's first signing at Rangers, says he is excited by the prospect of working with the former Liverpool and England captain, but admits he is yet to speak with his new boss.

Former Burnley midfielder and Canada global Scott Arfield has joined Rangers.

"It's pleasing also that we have been able to start our rebuilding process so quickly after the end of the season".

The midfielder said farewell to Burnley yesterday as the Clarets ended the season with defeat to Bournemouth.

Gerrard will initially look to make an impact in the Europa League with Rangers, knowing that steering the Gers through qualifying and to the group stage would be a big early feather in his cap.

However, this season has seen him turn out only 18 times, with injury and Burnley's incredible form keeping him out of the starting line-up.
