Nigeria head coach Gernot Rohr has named the country's league leading top scorers Junior Lokosa and Simeon Nwankwo as the new faces in the 30-man provisional list for the FIFA World Cup.

26-year-old Nwankwo gets his maiden global call-up thanks to his fine form in the Italian topflight where he has scored six goals in his last seven outings.

Al Ahly forward Junior Ajayi was not included in Nigeria's preliminary squad after he had received his first call in Nigeria's most recent gathering in March.

The Super Eagles are scheduled to play warm-up friendlies against DR Congo (28 May), England (2 June) and Czech Republic (6 June) in Austria.

Uncapped Simeon Nwankwo of Crotone in the Serie "A" is a surprise inclusion in the list of strikers dominated by English premier league players.

Nigeria start their campaign against Croatia on June 16 at the Kaliningrad Stadium before facing Iceland (June 22) and Argentina (June 26) in Volgograd and Saint Petersburg respectively.
