Wenger Signing Ronaldo would have changed Arsenal history

A coach at Manchester City Mikel Arteta is very close to becoming the next Arsenal manager, after another day of progress and productive talks between the former player and the club.

Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol claims that the Arsenal Executives will also be meeting on Thursday to discuss who will land the job.

During his five-year spell with The Gunners, Arteta emerged as a popular figure with the Arsenal fans and he is now it seems he is to be welcomed back at the helm, succeeding club legend Arsene Wenger.

Pep Guardiola, in his turn, noted he would not stand in Arteta's way if Arsenal come calling. That's no mean feat given the tactical nous needed to not only understand but help players understand what Pep wants.

Mikel Arteta and Nagelsmann are purported to be the two men at the front of the queue for the Gunners' vacancy, but Hoffenheim believes its coach is going nowhere having led the club to a UEFA Champions League spot for the second season in a row.

'So that's why I say yes, Patrick Vieira is ready to manage Arsenal'.

According to the Dailymail website, Arsenal players have already been informed that Arteta is "90 percent certain" to be in charge next season.

His class on and off the pitch slots in with Arsenal's philosophy and the one which Wenger has created, plus, let's be real, he would also represent a much cheaper option to the likes of Max Allegri or Luis Enrique who are being touted as potential successors to Wenger.
