No gameplay trailer was shown, so the specifics of how Blackout works are a mystery. There will also be a new Zombie mode called Zombie Rush which will provide a new challenge to veterans of the games. "For us to even consider this kind of experience, it had to be unique and done in a way only Black Ops could do". The only sad thing I learned about the multiplayer is that it will be 5v5 instead of 6v6. If you missed the live stream, don't worry, we will try to cover all the important parts of it.

Something worth noting is that Blops 4 will not have a single-player campaign instead each game mode will have a "narrative" behind it as opposed to having an actual single-player mode. A new feature called "fog of war" also limits your ability to see too far around your own position on the mini-map, though certain abilities can still extend the radius. Each one of the maps will be completely different from the other, but will also feature the return of a fan favorite map as well! IX, Voyage of Despair, and a continuation of Blood of the Dead are all available the first day of release.

The move away from an explicitly single-player story mode in one of gaming's most popular franchises highlights just how much the gaming market has shifted in recent years.

Treyarch has promised a full integration of the existing social features, including the friends list and the cross game communication already enjoyed by fans of the other big non-Blizzard game on the platform, Destiny 2.

Blackout is the new battle royale-style experience that looks to combine Black Ops' classic gunplay with new levels of survival competition across iconic Black Ops settings re-imagined at a grand scale.

The series jumping in on the battle royale train isn't surprising, considering the amount of success that PUBG and Fortnite are seeing. It was also announced that Black Ops 4 will be coming to PC exclusively on Battle.Net! The good news? They appear to be getting it right this time. We do not know, however, how it will effect the sales of the game. Some of the tweets you are about to see are filled with graphic language. This series is gonna die really fucking fast.

At the event, Treyarch confirmed that the fourth Black Ops will not have a campaign. Zero interest in Online only experiences. "There is never an update to the single-player campaign". This mode simplifies the experience to create "a whole new tempo of gameplay, ideal for welcoming people into the zombies universe and an enticing challenge for grizzled veterans alike". It willalso be the first Call of Duty game to ditch the campaign.

While Activision did not share the exact reasons behind the decision, money is likely the the main force in the decision. "At its core Black Ops has always been about challenging convention and boldly taking our gameplay in new directions".
