We're just days away from the big worldwide reveal of Battlefield V, and EA is making sure to put plenty of teases out there for fans eagerly awaiting the game.

This comes in the form of a very brief teaser trailer for Battlefield 5.

It's been rumored for a while now, but with every new piece of information about Battlefield V it's looking more and more likely that we're heading to World War II. It's only a few seconds in length, but it gives us enough to confirm the World War 2 setting.

First and foremost, Battlefield V looks like it will definitely be set during WWII.

Battlefield V is being developed by EA DICE using their flagship Frostbite Engine.

PS4 players report that they have seen a Battlefield V event notification, reminding them of the announcement that's taking place on May 23.

Not much can be taken from the video clip, but judging by the text on the screen, it looks like the footage was taken from some sort of multiplayer mode found within the upcoming game. An anonymous source told VentureBeat that even if the team finds a way to make the mode work for Battlefield 5's mechanics, Battlefield 5 might not ship with a battle royale mode when it launches in October. Hopefully we'll find out more soon.

There have been five "numbered" entries in DICE's Battlefield franchise, as long as you count 2016's Battlefield 1.

The trailer announces that the game's official reveal will be on Wednesday the 23rd of May at 1 PM PT / 4PM ET / 9 PM BST (2 PM AET).
