On Wednesday, Richie Incognito was reportedly detained for an involuntary mental evaluation after being accused of throwing tennis balls and a dumbbell at another person at a Boca Raton, Florida gym.

His troubles come just a month after the former Buffalo Bills offensive lineman said he was retiring from the National Football League due to liver and kidney problems.

The officers who were responding to the incident met with Incognito in the outdoor pool area, according to the report, and Incognito told them, "There's a guy walking around with head phones on".

The accusations against Incognito came just two days after he was released by the Buffalo Bills.

'I was just like, "this isn't right"'. Incognito believed ordinary citizens were government officials watching and tracking him. Next, Incognito pushed a weighted sled into O'Brien and skimmed the back of his leg. Incognito then threw a dumbbell into the pool.

Employees at the gym told police that Incognito also threw items at them.

"I haven't touched base with him", Bills guard Ryan Groy said Thursday.

"He started yelling at me like he was going to kick my ass and beat the [expletive] out of the equipment over here", O'Brien said in the 911 call regarding the incident obtained by the Herald. Are you with the f*****g government?', he recalled.

Incognito went on to explain that he was "under contract" and could not talk with the officers about what the documents on his phone were because they did not "have a high enough clearance", according to the report. The Boca Raton Police Department told Buscaglia that Incognito was not arrested, but rather was detained under the provisions of the Baker Act. Officers said Incognito's speech was erratic and he would change the subject often. When officers explained their concerns that Incognito could be a danger to others, he "suddenly stood and asked a woman in the swimming pool to call the Federal Bureau of Investigation".

Officers approached Incognito to find out what was going on.

I have criticized Incognito repeatedly in the past, but I truly hope he gets the help he needs.
