Roseanne Barr Apologizes To 'Roseanne' Cast And Crew, Blames Ambien

Though Barr quickly apologized for a joke that "was in bad taste", ABC released a terse statement from entertainment president Channing Dungey, which said: "Roseanne's Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have made a decision to cancel her show".

"Bob Iger of ABC called Valerie Jarrett to let her know that "ABC does not tolerate comments like those" made by Roseanne Barr", Trump tweeted Wednesday.

'People who lost money when the Stock Market went down 350 points based on the False and Dishonest reporting of Brian Ross of @ABC News (he has been suspended), should consider hiring a lawyer and suing ABC for the damages this bad reporting has caused - many millions of dollars!' Trump said in a tweet at the time.

"I said look, someone has got to tell her that Donald Trump doesn't carry his own phone", Arnold says. "It doesn't make it OK".

Announcing the cancellation of Roseanne, ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey piously commented in a statement, "Roseanne's Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have chose to cancel her show".

The talk show host, who interviewed both Barr and John Goodman back in March, prior to the premiere of the highly anticipated reboot, continued on to say, "The Roseanne I know could probably use some compassion and help right now". "It was 2 in the morning and I was ambien tweeting-it was memorial day too-i went 2 far & do not want it defended", she wrote. "If it hadn't happened [Tuesday], this season would have been so bad for everyone every day because she would have felt like she was [being] taken advantage [of], just like when I left the show". Backlash was swift, with many quickly slamming the comedian for her racist remarks.

She eventually said that she would be leaving Twitter amid the criticism, after tweeting, "I apologize to Valerie Jarrett and to all Americans". One stupid joke in a lifetime of fighting for civil rights for all minorities, against networks, studios, at the expense of my nervous system/family/wealth will NEVER be taken from me, ' she said in one post.

"Her tweets kept coming Wednesday morning, touching on everything from religion ("I'm a Jew making fun of Hitler, bigot", she defensively responded to a user who shared a photo of her from 2009, when she was slammed for posing as Adolf Hitler for a satirical magazine) to backing off on fully blaming the Ambien that she said she had taken".

Arnold and Barr have been separated for 24 years, which is also the period of time since he worked on the show.

She also faulted Iger for not apologizing to Trump after ESPN personality Jemele Hill called Trump a "white supremacist". "As you say, those ordinary examples of racism that happen every single day".

She brought up several examples of what she called a media slant against Trump. "Everyone has always been scared shitless of her".

Kimmel asked her about her attacks on Hillary Clinton, saying "I think you accused her of being a murderer on Twitter didn't you".
