Harry Kane sends message to Spurs fans after signing new deal

The news comes just one month after Mauricio Pochettino signed a new five-year contract at the club.

Harry Kane has agreed a bumper new pay deal that will see him become the highest paid player at Tottenham Hotspur.

In a bid to ward off the potential bids from Manchester United and Real Madrid who have been reportedly keen on the new England captain - Spurs have announced a real signal of intent.

With a swanky new stadium inbound, all their star players pulling in the same direction and that infamous pay ceiling now breached, it looks like a courageous new boom may be on the cards at White Hart Lane.

Kane, who was labelled at the most valuable player in the world earlier this week following research from the CIES Football Observatory, has scored 134 goals for Spurs over the last four seasons.

Kane's previous contract signed in 2016 was set to run until 2022, but with the striker expected to attract interest from some of Europe's biggest clubs, chairman Daniel Levy moved proactively.

"I'm really excited, it's a proud day", Kane said on tottenhamhotspur.com. Obviously it's been a great few seasons and I'm looking forward to the future.

"For us as a club, it's just about keeping improving and we'll work hard to do that".

Kane is now the leading scorer in the Premier League era for Tottenham after surpassing Teddy Sheringham's total of 97.

The striker, who will captain England at the World Cup in Russian Federation this summer, has penned a deal which runs to 2024.
