In the history of the National Basketball Association playoffs, teams trailing 0-3 in a best-of-7 series are 0-131. As evidenced in last night's (June 6) dagger three-pointer against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the third game of the 2018 NBA Finals, Durant's ice-cold nature on the court serves his team well but it's his work off the court that really stands out. Durant reportedly took a pay cut to return for a second title run in Oakland this season.

Durant is averging 29.4 points, 7.6 rebounds and 4.5 assists during the playoffs. He's posted an effective field goal percentage of 51.5 on those closely defended shots, roughly equivalent to Jimmy Butler's effective field goal percentage on all shots, open or defended, during the regular season. It was the second-most points ever scored in a Finals game on less than 25 shots from the field. The Warriors team passing numbers are up from their Western Conference Finals matchup against the Houston Rockets and Durant's 11.3 potential assists per game are a big increase from both last round and his regular season numbers.

Between his absurd shot-making and his incredible passing in this series, Durant's impact on the Warriors offense has been invaluable.

A heckler outside the Golden State Warriors' team hotel got under Kevin Durant's skin Wednesday night.

In the Finals, the Warriors have managed to score just 82.3 points per 100 possessions which Durant on the bench, a drop-off of 45.9 points from what they've averaged with him on the floor.

"I just sat down with him about a half hour ago and he says he's re-signing with Golden State this summer, which is not unexpected, by the way", reporter Rachel Nichols told ESPN viewers Thursday.
