Actor Vince Vaughn was arrested early Sunday morning in Manhattan Beach, police confirmed to CBS Los Angeles. The arrest occurred when Vaughn stopped at a DUI checkpoint in Manhattan Beach, California, police said in a news release. He has yet to be releaased.

The Blast reports an unnamed male was in the passenger seat at the time of the arrest, and was given the charge of public intoxication and resisting arrest.

TMZ, which was first to report the news, says this is Vaughn's first DUI offense and he had a passenger in the vehicle.

Vaughn's representatives have not yet made a statement on the actor's DUI arrest.

Police employee Nisha Bhagat says Vaughn has since been released from custody.

According to Manhattan Beach PD, Vaughn was initially uncooperative and at first refused to exit the auto. Both were booked into jail and then they posted bail.

If convicted, Vince Vaughn will have to attend alcohol education classes and pay court fines and fees as well as legal fees.

The Illinois native was arrested in 2001 after a bar fight in North Carolina, where he was filming "Domestic Disturbance".

Vaughn has yet to comment on the incident. One night, he was at a bar with actor Steve Buscemi and screenwriter Scott Rosenberg.
