Elon Musk's flamethrowers listed on eBay for as high as $28000

People who bought Elon Musk's new flamethrower are setting fire to everything

The billionaire inventor and chief executive of Tesla and SpaceX announced the sale of the flamethrower previous year.

While the merchandise certainly helps draw attention to Musk's boring ambitions and the holes he's drilling into Los Angeles streets, they're not how he's subsidizing most of the projects. The sale on Saturday saw the first thousand units go while the remaining 19,000 will be shipped.

As shown in Musk's tweeted pictures, hundreds lined up at the pickup site in Los Angeles to get their purchases and pose for pictures as flames licked out from the flamethrowers' barrels.

Musk tweeted what he claimed was the terms and conditions for the machines, some of which were presented in the style of the U.S. children's author Dr. Seuss. The company took orders for 20,000 flamethrowers, selling out. "I will not use this in a house".

The hot ticket items also come with a 10-page manual including other sensible tips such as not pointing the Not-A-Flamethrower at your face, people, animals, or flammable objects, and not to touch the nozzle during or after use.

Not all of the images depicted safe or controlled use of the machines, however.

Some of the first customers were already trying to turn a profit.

So far, the listings on eBay do not appear to be drawing much action.

Several Boring Co. flamethrowers were listed on eBay from $2,800 to $3,333 on Monday night.

Crowds of ecstatic customers are busy picking up flamethrowers in Los Angeles as Elon Musk distributes the first thousand flamethrowers today that were ordered through The Boring Company. The most eager customers can forgo the bidding process and pay the eBay "buy it now price", which is as high as $20,000. This suggestion probably should have a "Kids, do not try this at home" caution, because you know that's what people will do. Plus, The Boring Company said it is going to donate $10,000 to California Wildfire Relief Fund.
