There were some cool moments, to be sure.

Echoes of an Elusive Age E3 2018 trailer provides some background on the story of the hunted Luminary and his loyal companions. Perhaps we'll see this game at Sony's showcase tonight, or maybe not even until after Shadow of the Tomb Raider is out.

What was Just Cause 4 doing here? The game is the last entry in the Tomb Raider origin trilogy, and you'll once again play as Lara Croft.

Just Cause 4 is a showcase for Avalanche's latest upgrade to the studio's open world Apex engine.

It was nice to see Dragon Quest XI in the spotlight, a series that often doesn't enjoy its share of mainstream. The surprisingly prolific Dontnod also showed some of its free Life is odd spin-off The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit coming later this month. We saw Kingdom Hearts III and Shadow of the Tomb Raider during Microsoft's press briefing on Sunday, but we should get a deeper dive on both titles at the Square Enix event, especially with both coming out in the coming months. Sadly, both also had immaterial showings with next to no details revealed about what they will be like; the ultimate E3 tease. This game is being developed for PS4 and Steam by Platinum games and will release in 2019. The teaser showed nothing worth clinging to otherwise.

It was a bite-sized 30-minute look at Square Enix's plans moving forward, with plenty for fans to get hyped over.

What was disappointing though was that there was no mention at all of Square Enix's Avengers game, which past year they'd implied would be revealed at E3. There will also be a crossover event with Brave Exvius.
