Are you excited to see Wonder Woman in the 1980s setting?

As the filming for Wonder Woman 2 continues in earnest in the United States, the first sanctioned photo of Gal Gadot in character was released on Wednesday.

As previously announced, the film also stars Kristen Wiig in the role of the Super-Villain The Cheetah, as well as Pedro Pascal.

Production on the "Wonder Woman" sequel has officially begun, and Warner Bros. has confirmed not only the title of the sequel, but that actor Chris Pine is returning, as well. The character sacrificed his life during the climax of the first "Wonder Woman", which means the script will have a lot of explaining to do in regards to how Trevor is alive in 1984. Pictures' follow up to the Super Hero's first outing, last summer's record-breaking "Wonder Woman", which took in $822 million at the worldwide box office.

Besides, Steve frickin' Trevor is back, back, back, and while his welcome return may defy logic, there's no denying Chris Pine's chemistry with Gadot. Filming is taking place in Washington, D.C., Alexandria, Virginia, and in the UK, Spain, and the Canary Islands.

Charles Roven, Deborah Snyder, Zack Snyder, Patty Jenkins, Stephen Jones and Gal Gadot are producing the film. An Amazon like Wonder Woman doesn't age the same way mere mortals do, so it makes sense that she would look basically the same for about a century, but Steve is just a regular shmegular dude.

The 1984 setting of the next Wonder Woman movie was hinted at earlier this month by both Patty and Geoff Johns, the president of DC Entertainment.
