Suspect arrested in shooting death of rapper XXXTentacion

A 22-year-old has been arrested in connection with the murder of rapper XXXTentacion, according to the Broward County Sheriff's Office. Williams was arrested around 7 p.m. on Wednesday in Pompano Beach, Fla., just south of Deerfield Beach, according to police. The Broward Sheriff's Office says the 20-year-old rising star was pronounced dead Monday, June 18, 2018 at a Fort Lauderdale-area hospital.

The rapper's mother told family and friends Wednesday night at a vigil that the sheriff's office told her they'd made an arrest just 48 hours after the fatal shooting.

Williams has previous arrest records for cocaine possession, weapons possession, aggravated assault with a firearm and domestic violence.

The post shared two days after XXXTentacion's murder warned people not to make him angry. A stream of mourners left mementos at the spot where rapper XXXTentacion was killed as he left a Florida motorcycle dealership.

Detectives initially believed that the killing was a random robbery after XXXTentacion's Louis Vuitton bag was stolen.

A Florida judge has ordered Williams to be held without bond.

He has also previously been charged with grand theft auto that led to a probation violation charge, and he allegedly once held a gun to his girlfriend's head.

Social media accounts believed to belong to Williams suggest he was working as a tattoo artist. 'I wasn't even there 25 minutes and I literally got pulled away from the memorial'. "I think the determination was that he wanted to buy a motorcycle, but [detectives] are not discounting any theory". I wasn't bothering anyone.

"Would I change anything about my journey?" he said in an interview with the Miami New Times earlier this month.
