England Coach Criticises Media For Leaking Team News

Southgate's notes appear to suggest Sterling and Alli will miss out

Handed a winning start for the first time in a major tournament for 12 years by captain Harry Kane's injury-time victor against Tunisia, England can look forward to Sunday's meeting with Panama with a rare sense of World Cup calm.

England coach Gareth Southgate has hit out at the media for leaking team news ahead of their 2018 World Cup clash with Panama.

Wilshere, 26, has been touted for stardom for many years but has seen injuries curtail his impact with Arsenal, and the England global - who didn't make this summer's World Cup squad - is now a free agent after deciding not to pen a new contract.

Now, with Dele Alli a doubt for England's game against Panama on Sunday, Loftus-Cheek has been tipped to take his place in the starting XI following a good cameo in the 2-1 win against Tunisia.

Marcus Rashford and Raheem Sterling could swap roles.

'So of course our media has to decide if they want to help the team or not'.

"Obviously any time if we were to give the opposition the opportunity of having our team it's a disadvantage to us", Southgate told reporters, according to FourFourTwo.

"Can he really take the recent goal form at Manchester City onto the global stage?"

A free press exists to be NOT biased in any way, so for Southgate to command the opposite from the journalists around his team is quite freakish to say the least. The England boss did not appear to be too impressed, suggesting that it could compromise the side's chances against Panama.

"To score that many goals shows he is doing something right".

At 20, Rashford is just one of a host of exciting young English talents as Southgate took the third youngest squad in the tournament to Russian Federation.

"I think he can add more goals to his game".

Highly-fancied Belgium soared to the top of the group by easing past the World Cup debutants 3-0 in their opening game.
