He had said before the Singapore talks that he wanted to take the measure of Kim personally and gauge their chemistry.

Bolton said on CBS that he himself had asked Putin about election meddling when he met the Russian leader last week. 'I don't think anybody ought to have a case of the vapors over discussions we have in North Atlantic Treaty Organisation or the G-7 versus discussions we have with Putin or Kim Jong Un.

"There are a wide range of issues, despite the differences between us, where both President Trump and President Putin think they may be able to find constructive solutions", he said.

Bolton said that was different from the Russians saying there was no meddling at all.

"I think that in the president's mind this is very important, because it gives him an opportunity to size up Vladimir Putin, to see where there are areas where we might make progress together and where there are areas where we may not", Bolton added.

"I don't think I'm going to be so specific in the questions I'll be asking", the president said.

"Let's not rush into talking about a thaw", Peskov said of relations between Moscow and Washington.

Dmitry Peskov responded to comments made by President Donald Trump to reporters riding Air Force One on Friday.

Press Secretary of the White house Sarah Sanders refused to confirm or deny trump's words. Special Counsel Robert Mueller is investigating whether Trump's campaign worked with Moscow. And he has called the FBI's investigation into potential Russian co-ordination with his campaign a "witch hunt" created to delegitimize his presidency.

"The idea that Russian Federation did not meddle in our election is fake news", Graham said.

The Kremlin continues to claim that the Russian government played no role in the USA election but has left open the possibility that Russian non-state actors might have been involved. "When they say they didn't meddle, they're lying". "I think there were some where it was clear our position was very, very far apart. Show him the evidence you've got, Mr. President, because it's overwhelming".

Peskov also said Friday that there was "no specific idea" to invite Trump to the World Cup final match on July 15 in Russian Federation, which is hosting the major worldwide soccer tournament.

Next month's dialogue in Finland will see the two leaders discuss "the current state and prospects for development of Russian-US relations", said the Kremlin. That 1975 agreement was reached by the United States, Canada, and nearly every European country to solidify the post-World War II order in Europe and reduce tensions between the Western and Soviet blocs.
