Shenmue I & II To Launch Next Month On PC And Consoles

After getting pushed back twice, fans are getting anxious for the game's release.

Shenmue I & II will come with some new features not found in the original releases, as well as PC exclusive features such as graphics options, updated user interface and more.

Microsoft's Windows Store may have leaked the release date for the remastered collection of Shenmue 1 and 2.

The cult martial arts and forklift meme-generating adventure games will include modern control options, the chance to play the original game with Japanese dialogue, and scalable screen resolution.

What makes this intriguing is that at the time of this listing, Sega has yet to officially confirm a release date for the anticipated re-release of both Shenmue games.

The first Shenmue launched in 1999 on the Sega Dreamcast.

Likewise, for "technical reasons" Sega has chosen to port Shenmue 2's Xbox iteration-as opposed to its Dreamcast variant.

In the announcement, the company goes on to call this release the "definitive version" and the "best Shenmue experience to date".

Check out the Shenmue FAQ as it appears on the Sega website, and know that the originals' in-game arcade games are fully playable here.

On its first release nearly 20 years ago, Shenmue was among the most expensive games ever developed, with its production reckoned to cost as much as $70 million.
