Brazil team news: Willian, Neymar to start in this 4-3-3 against Belgium on Friday? | Daily Star

It's Belgium against Brazil in one of the most talent-filled games we've seen in Russian Federation.

Brazil's Willian in a past press conference before World Cup game.

Belgium's quarter-final battle with Brazil will be a classic encounter between an unstoppable force and an immovable object when the tournament's joint best defence comes up against its most free-scoring attack in Kazan on Friday.

Roberto Martinez has given Brazil a huge indication as to how Belgium will approach their World Cup quarter-final on Friday, acknowledging a need for "power" which could result in Marouane Fellaini starting.

As mentioned before, 2006 by France, 2010 by the Netherlands and in 2014, the infamous 7-1 loss to Germany in the semi-finals!

Belgium have no new injury concerns, although manager Roberto Martinez must decide whether to start with the same team that began the Japan game or the one that finished it so well.

Martinez's squad includes defender Vincent Kompany, goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, midfielder Kevin de Bruyne and forward Eden Hazard, who have won the Premier League eight times between them.

The hometown favorites surprised most critics by making it to the quarterfinals, and it will be even more surprising if they can upset a better-fielded Croatian team just days after stunning Spain in a penalty kick shootout.

"The two sides are very similar in terms of the qualities we have", said Martinez.

"They can all go man to man thanks to their ability to dribble, feint and produce a touch of magic".

"Brazil are ranked second in the world, we're number three, we know who we are and we know the magnitude of the game".

"I would have preferred it to be in the final", said Kompany when asked how he felt about having to face the Brazilians at this point in the knockouts.

"The difference is that we haven't won a World cup, it's as simple as that", he added.

"A lot of respect, you 'll only get respect for Brazil from Belgium for what Tite is achieving with his team".

Though Brazil has yet to hit the heights on the attacking front, it and Uruguay have been the meanest defences in the competition, conceding just one goal apiece in four matches.

Belgium, however, will be playing in back-to-back World Cup quarter-finals for the first time in their history with the moniker of the "Golden Generation" resting heavy on their shoulders. Former England worldwide Gary Lineker, in a tweet, wrote, "Neymar has the lowest pain threshold of any player in World Cups since Opta stats began", in a tongue in cheek comment.

"If we play as a team, if we fight for each other, we can do it and that's what matters to me".

Manchester City's Fernandinho is likely to take his place, ensuring the Selecao retain an imposing platform in midfield. "If you look, you see how much he's been participating collectively, taking up the ball, taking up space".
