Conte has clashed with Chelsea staff over when their players should return for training

They could benefit from the impending arrival of former Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri, who helped Jorginho reach new heights last season.

The Blues have yet to make a signing this summer with their managerial situation having taken preference.

Conte returned to the club's Cobham training base over the weekend and has has overseen the start of pre-season training, despite acknowledging he is nearly certain to be sacked.

But away from that complicated saga, Chelsea are now closing in on their first piece of business.

Antonio Conte took charge of Chelsea's preseason preparations with a double session at Cobham on Monday, sources have told ESPN FC.

Sarri worked with Rugani at Empoli but the 23-year-old's development has been somewhat stunted at Juve. Chelsea finished a disappointing season in seventh and have missed out on competing in the Champions League next year.

And the report claims Chelsea are hoping to land a £35million deal to bring the Italy global to Stamford Bridge from Juve, who recently spent over £88m to sign Cristiano Ronaldo.

Here is a video that the club have released of the players being put through their paces.

According to a report from Italian outlet Tuttosport (via Football Italia), the club now want €20m in compensation from Chelsea before they let Sarri depart for the Premier League.

That, after all, is just how the club works.

Conte is also holding out for his £9m and intends to work his previous year of his contract unless he gets it, having not had any concrete offers from other clubs and after turning down Italy's interest in re-appointing him.
