This Is 76ers ‘Most Realistic’ Offer For Kawhi Leonard

Not even 10 days since the beginning of free agency, most of the major questions entering the NBA's much-anticipated 2018 off-season have already been answered. LeBron James, as many expected, closed his latest Cleveland chapter and took his talents to Hollywood with the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Philadelphia 76ers are said to be the only Eastern Conference team that Kawhi would consider re-signing with.

The Leonard-Spurs saga has seemingly lingered for months now.

It's probably a longshot, but it is interesting to see that Toronto is being talked about alongside National Basketball Association heavyweights like the Los Angeles Lakers - Leonard's preferred choice - the Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers. The Spurs reportedly asked them for three future first-round draft picks and two current players, but if one of those players do not include one of either Markelle Futlz, Ben Simmons or Joel Embiid, it will likely be rejected. Meanwhile, other teams who can put together a competitive trade package, like the Boston Celtics, are rumoured to be happier holding onto their assets for now.

With the 28-year-old now having a year left on his deal, the Spurs have some leverage in that they can choose who they trade Leonard to or keep him for a year where he can then leave as an unrestricted free agent.

According to Tim Bontemps of the Washington Post, the Raptors have "generated buzz" in the Kawhi Leonard sweepstakes.

Now there is speculation that Masai Ujiri could be inclined to make a bold win-now trade and acquire Kawhi Leonard from the Spurs.

While the Raptors may be making some noise, reports are that the 76ers remain atop Leonard's list. Yet with Leonard, they will have an elite player capable of defending the opposing team's best player and be the number one option on the offensive end.
