Max Meyer has said he is excited to "experience the atmosphere" of a Premier League game after completing his transfer to Crystal Palace.

Meyer is set to sign a four-year contract and his huge new wage will see him rake in just over £35million during his time at Palace - double what Tottenham were looking to pay Schalke for his services.

In a post titled "5 Key Moments From Meyer's Career", Crystal Palace used a picture of Joshua Kimmich playing for Germany, rather than a picture of Meyer.

"I played at Selhurst Park last season for Schalke and the atmosphere was ideal, and I can't wait to experience the atmosphere for a Premier League game".

Crystal Palace have confirmed the signing of former Schalke midfielder Max Meyer on a free transfer.

The 22-year-old had a relatively quiet season last term, but has earned his wonderkid status over the past five seasons he has played for Schalke.

Meyer progressed through Schalke's youth ranks to make 192 appearances for the German side, including three UEFA Champions League campaigns.

Meyer becomes Palace's third signing of the close-season, following the arrivals of Cheikhou Kouyate and Vicente Guaita.

Arsenal were rumoured to have an interest in the Germany global, but his wage demands have reportedly put many teams off - especially considering his disappointing season last time out.

He progressed into the full Germany national side in 2014 and has gone on to win four caps, scoring his maiden worldwide goal against Finland in August 2016.
