James also said Trump "don't give a f--" about the people in a conversation with Kevin Durant and ESPN's Cari Champion.

Incidentally, prior to his criticism of James, Trump retweeted a quote from Pastor Darrell Scott calling Trump "the most pro-black president that we've had in our lifetime". Mr. Trump also went after Lemon, calling him the "dumbest man on television".

As we've become accustomed to, Trump fired off a tweet insulting both Lemon and James before adding that he is, in fact, a Michael Jordan guy.

James said: "School didn't mean anything to me".

Trump seemed to take issue with some of James' comments.

Trump's tweet came four days after the CNN interview originally aired.

"Walking these hallways and seeing, when I was driving here, just the streets that I walked, some of the stores are still up when I was growing up", James told ESPN.

Having kids around my same age and we having the same goals in mind really stopped me from going the other way, and that's what we have at this school. I've rode the same bikes on the streets that they ride on.

Regardless of whether or not he's tied to Ohio through his team, he says that Akron Ohio will always be where his heart is at, "no matter if I'm playing in Los Angeles or not, Akron, Ohio is always home for me". "I know everything they dream about and the nightmares they have ... because I've been there".

Impressively, the school boasts a 20-to-1 student-teacher ratio, year-round programming and a 9-to-5 school day to keep its children engaged.

The Cleveland Cavaliers star has repeatedly clashed with the President, and on Monday said he would refuse to ever sit face to face with him.

But James isn't just looking to provide support for his students, he wants to support their parents as well.
