Conor McGregor vs Khabib Nurmagomedov Announced For UFC 229

With ticket prices expected to be insane, especially on the secondary market, you've got to believe UFC President Dana White's phone will be blowing up with requests from friends. He plays hard, but he trains even harder.

He was stripped of his belt for being inactive and Nurmagomedov subsequently won the 155lb title by beating Al Iaquinta as the Russian extended his winning record to 26 straight fights.

McGregor's return to UFC after his boxing match with Floyd Mayweather and meltdown in New York City was always going to bring drama, but Friday might have somehow surpassed expectations.

Nate Diaz was not happy when he saw the promo announcing that Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov will be facing off at UFC 229 on October 6 in Las Vegas.

McGregor and Nurmagomedov have a checkered history that culminated at the UFC 223 media day in NY when the Irishman infamously attacked a bus carrying Nurmagomedov.

Here's everything McGregor likes to have for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Not everyone is happy about the title fight, Nate Diaz who was at the press conference, walked out when the announcement was made.

Those include a September 8 pay-per-view card in Dallas headlined by the Tyron Woodley-Darren Till welterweight title fight and a December 29 card in Las Vegas likely to feature a fight between women's champions Cris Cyborg and Amanda Nunes, although negotiations continue.

With that backstory in mind, the UFC has plenty of fodder to promote McGregor's Octagon return. But once the event wrapped, White presented a video package that announced the return of the UFC's biggest star. "I don't know why nobody told you guys that".

UFC 229 is set to down on October 6 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

"This is a championship fight right here ..."
