Deflategate Part 2: NFL Investigating Steelers Use of Deflated Balls in Preseason

Football returned far and wide Thursday night with a slate of 12 NFL preseason games, and with them seemingly a second installment of one of the league's most freakish controversies: Deflategate. When Eskin saw it on the sideline following an incompletion, it "looked like a marshmallow".

Three years ago, the NFL launched an investigation and concluded that the Patriots used a deflated football during their blowout victory over the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC Championship game.

The incident reportedly took place while Mason Rudolph was behind center for the Steelers.

Eskin joined the 94WIP Morning Show on Friday. He scored on a 29-yard strike from Joshua Dobbs in which he was required to adjust to the ball in the air and snag it rather than let it come to him.

Of course, one might argue that the NFL going down another absurd rabbit hole over a deflated football would have qualified as entertaining.

Less than 12 hours later, the NFL sent a memo to reporters at the league owned network that basically said, "nothing to see here". "In the 3Q, a football that was found to be defective was removed from play, will be sent back to Wilson for review".

This actually isn't the first time the Steelers have been accused of doctoring their balls.
