Gboard Now Lets You Turn Your Selfies Into Personalised Stickers

To create these new mini stickers, you have to just take a selfie, then Gboard will generate sticker packs based on your face.

All you have to do is download the Gboard app as your primary keyboard, tap the emoji button on the left of the spacebar, select the stickers icon, tap on the Mini icon and create. Keep in mind that this is merely using a selfie to intelligently make stickers of yourself, so it's bound to be inaccurate in some cases, and so the manual customizations can be used to achieve the finer levels of accuracy.

A similar feature was first introduced in Google's earlier attempt in their messaging app, Allo.

Google told Engadget that the "feature uses a combination of machine learning, neural networks and artist illustrations to conjure up the best representation of you, taking into account various characteristics like your skin tone, hair colour and style, eye colour, face shape and facial hair".

We're not seeing the update live for Gboard on Google Play yet, but once it's live, you'll have access to Mini. Google has announced that it's putting Allo's development on hold, mainly because Android Messages is becoming Google's go-to chat app, and some of Allo's features are making their way to other Google apps, such as this one, while Allo's Google Assistant-related features will roll out to Android Messages, it seems. If you'd like to take a closer look as to how this feature works, check out the GIF image down below, which will basically show you the whole process.
