LG G7 One is LG’s first smartphone in the Android One program

While G7 One, which runs on Google's Android One operating system, features a button dedicated for Google Assistant on the left side of the device below the volume control keys, G7 Fit lacks this functionality.

As far as the differences are concerned, while G7 One is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, G7 Fit comes with the chipset maker's two year old SoC Snapdragon 821. On the back, the device has a 16 MP f/1.6 camera while on the front, it holds an 8 MP f/1.9 selfie camera.

On the storage front there are only 32 GB. The 3,000 mAh battery remains the same as previous LG ThinQ.

Despite detailing nearly every aspect of these new devices, LG has not revealed the precise availability, nor the pricing for the G7 One and G7 Fit. Most manufacturers choose to use the latest midrange Snapdragon processors for phones like this.

The LG G7 One is part of Google's Android One initiative and it runs stock Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box. The 64GB variant will be marketed as the LG G7 Fit+ in some markets, says LG. Both the smartphones will be showcased at the IFA 2018 this week. It has the same all-glass design aesthetic of the LG G7 ThinQ with a polished metal rim that is rated IP68 for dust and water resistance.

The LG G7 Fit comes with 6.1-inch FullVision Super Bright IPS display, with a resolution of 3120 x 1440 pixels and aspect ratio of 19.5:9.

As such the LG V40 (unofficial name) will likely be the only new notable smartphone to come from LG to South Africa for the second half of 2018. The other variant that features 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of native storage is dubbed as G7 Fit+. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC. The two phones will share the same body, 6.1-inch QHD+ screen and 3000mAh battery as the company's flagship, the G7 ThinQ, but will occupy lower price brackets and will have the hardware to match them. This handset is both IP68 and MIL-STD-810G certified, while it comes with the same 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC as the LG G7 One.

There's now no word on the LG G7 One and G7 Fit release date, price and availability, but we'll update this article as soon as we know more.

The smartphone comprises a 16 MP camera with LED flash F/2.2 Aperture and 76-degree wide-angle lens rear camera.
