Tottenham News: Hugo Lloris to keep captaincy confirms Mauricio Pochettino

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that he is set to be without captain Hugo Lloris and playmaker Dele Alli for this weekends clash against Liverpool.

"He's a little bit unlucky", Pochettino told Sky Sports News. He said he was guilty of this situation and it's irresponsible.

"He's punishing himself. He feels so sorry and so bad because he knows that he made a big mistake".

"Of course we have a conversation and he explained what happened". Of course he's lucky there was no outcome - that is important - and it is a massive lesson for him, a life lesson. "Like a man that he is, he's going to pay and accept everything".

Tottenham are coming off an impressive 3-0 win against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

But the goalkeeper will miss Spurs' game against Liverpool on Saturday, with Dele Alli also ruled out as Pochettino has suffered a double injury blow.

This could mean a return for Heung-min Son.

Asked then about stripping him of the role, he said: "I never considered that". But in all this history, where is my present? I don't want to say more as I don't want to say anything more that will help no-one.

"Because we are talking about Harry Kane everyone expects him in every action to do something different". Who took the risk?

Pochettino described the 2-1 defeat at Watford as a "massive wake-up call" and said his side would have to be at their very best to have a chance of emulating last year's result against Juergen Klopp's Reds. He said "Gaffer, I made a mistake".

"He's travelled a lot and yes I hope that for the weekend he'll be available to play or be on the bench".

"We are disappointed because we are going to miss him for this game and maybe against Inter in the Champions League".
