Mychal Kendricks was released by the Browns after being charged with insider trading

Mychal Kendricks was released by the Browns after being charged with insider trading.

It has been a week since Mychal Kendricks pleaded guilty to insider trading, but that doesn't necessarily mean his National Football League career is over.

Prosecutors said Kendricks netted close to $1.2 million in profits off the trading during his two-year arrangement with a former Goldman Sachs analyst.

Kendricks is signing with the Seattle Seahawks, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Seattle Times sports writer Bob Condotta noted that in addition to injured KJ Wright, fellow linebacker Bobby Wagner showed up on the Seahawks injury report Thursday.

Kendricks and Goldman Sachs analyst turned Black-ish TV writer Damilare Sonoiki were indicted August 29 on insider trading charges pertaining to investments made four years ago. The Browns released him after he was indicted.

Seattle not likely to waste any time: Kendricks expected to play Monday night vs. Bears.

The NFL has not yet announced any punishment that it might impose on Kendricks.

The 5-foot-11, 240-pounder recorded five total tackles and one sack through three preseason games with the Browns.

Prosecutors say his co-defendant, Damilare Sonoiki, was paid $10,000 in kickbacks in the scheme from 2014-2015, as well as perks like tickets to Eagles games and tagging along to a music video shoot or nightclub appearances. "I am committed to repaying all of the funds gained illegally and accept the consequences of my actions".
