Indian army fires at AJK premier’s copter near LoC

Pakistan violates ceasefire along LoC in J&K's Kupwara cross-firing

A Pakistani Twitter user, Raja Shahzad, confirmed the development by claiming that the PoK leader's helicopter near the Line of Control (LoC) was sacked at by the Indian Army.

The white chopper was flying close to the highly militarised Line of Control in Poonch sector when it was sacked at from an Indian check post. They both openly advocate religious superiority of the Hindus, said the Pakistani diplomat.

The white-colour helicopter crossed the Line of Control (LOC) in the Poonch sector of Jammu-Kashmir and flew over the Gulpur and Digwar villages along the LOC for two minutes before returning to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK).

Raja Arshad, a senior local administration official in of Havaily district, where the incident came, said the prime minister was safe and no damage came to the helicopter also.

Pakistan's new Prime Minister Imran Khan also offered an olive branch to India upon taking office in mid-August, promising to fix ties, but in recent weeks relations have frayed again amid high-profile diplomatic clashes.

"We were very close to zero line but we were within our space".

According to reports, the chopper hovered over the Indian airspace in Gulpur sector for sometime before turning back.

The leader of Pakistani-administered Kashmir region said on Sunday Indian troops shot at his helicopter near the disputed frontier, a move likely to further fray ties between the two countries. Three forward posts fired small arms after noticing the airspace violation.

Giving their version of the story, Indian defence spokesman Lt Col Devender Anand told the media that a white-coloured Pakistani helicopter had violated Indian airspace around noon on Sunday.

Though Pakistan has claimed that the civilian chopper inadvertently forayed into the Indian territory and violated airspace, sources didn't rule out Pakistan's mischief behind the airspace violation as on earlier occasions also, Pakistan has resorted to such acts to take photographs of forward locations for sending armed infiltrators but, all the times, Indian Army has thwarted Pakistani plans and forced their choppers to immediately retreat to their territory.

India agreed, and a meeting of the foreign ministers of the two nations was planned on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in NY.

Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi responded to Sushma's accusations and exposed the real face of India to the world.

New Delhi has long accused Islamabad of supporting rebel groups in Kashmir, who either want independence or a merger with Pakistan.

Reports said the chopper carrying the PoK "Prime Minister" later landed at Kahuta in PoK.
