Conor McGregor issues threat to everyone and teases the fight a lot of people want

The Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to pay-per-view on Saturday, Oct. 6 with the highly-anticipated UFC 229 event which features the return of former two-division champion Conor McGregor.

Being relieved of the crowns still rankles with McGregor, who had a brief foray into boxing to take on Floyd Mayweather during his UFC hiatus.

The Irishman told ESPN's Ariel Helwani he would win this weekend by "devastating KO" and then assess his next opponent from a long list of possible suitors.

He added: "The fans have just missed me competing, like I have missed me competing also". And we're here right on the cusp of it. Making weight, handling the media obligations.

However, he was stripped of his 145lb title in the same month he beat Alvarez, while his inactivity meant Nurmagomedov was installed as lightweight champion earlier this year.

"Dustin and Nate are competing, I know that the 170-pounds belt has also just been defended and I know Tyron is itching for that fight, like they all f***ing are".

"I sacrificed so much to gain those world titles and then as soon as I win the second world title - I hadn't even been offered a featherweight contest - and the featherweight title was taken off me".

"I traveled the world with a two year build up".

"With this kind of wealth a lot of things change, the people around you change", he said.

McGregor was also asked about another major draw in former UFC welterweight and middleweight champion Georges St-Pierre.

"I have already been mapping out what I want to do next", McGregor said. Georges [St-Pierre] is test cutting 155 and I know everyone is around looking for it. I think I probably would have just disappeared back into the shadows and got that man (Nurmagomedov) somewhere else outside of here.

"If [Mayweather] has the bottle to come over and deal with this, like he said he has, let's see what happens".

Ahead of what has been billed as the biggest UFC fight of all-time, Press Association Sport looks at five of McGregor's standout victories within the organisation.

Four times he was scheduled to face Tony Ferguson and four times the fight fell apart.

With Anthony Pettis vs Tony Ferguson occupying the co-main event, it would make sense that either of those two men fill in as a replacement should either of the two main event fighters not make it to fight night. Of course, if Khabib Nurmagomedov pulls out of their showdown.

Could we see a third fight between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz?

"And then as soon as I win the second world title, I wasn't even offered a featherweight contest and the featherweight title was taken off of me and handed back to a man that I had a insane history with".
