Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 has a 50GB day one patch

However, this is not an accuarate representation of the actual patch size, just the space needed to install it.

Typically, day one updates for some titles are only around 12GB, but the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will more than quadruple that number with a massive 50GB day one update.

The day one patch has become such an issue that United Kingdom shops have been given permission to sell the game a day early, so that everyone has a chance to download the update in a reasonable amount of time.

Are you anxious about having to download 50GB for Black Ops 4, or does it not bother you? This update must be installed completely in order to access Multiplayer, Zombies, and Specialist Headquarters.

Meanwhile, Xbox One owners won't seemingly require the same 112 GB of free hard drive space, but can still expect a 55 GB final install size on their system. Blackout is fully playable once installation is about 30 percent complete (approximately 16-20 GB). Suggesting that the day one update has already been applied to the game files available to preload as of tomorrow on PS4.

Treyarch claimed that it is serious about the PC version of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, so it will be interesting to see whether the team has addressed the low-resolution textures in the Blackout mode, and whether it will run smoothly on various PC configurations. If people are planning on staying up late tomorrow night, it'd be wise to start the download before hittin' that bed up, especially if your internet connection takes a century to download 1GB.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is scheduled to release later this week on October 12th.
