Ruby Rose as Batwoman Reveled in Elseworlds Arrowverse Crossover

The CW has unveiled the first official image of Ruby Rose as Kate Kane, a.k.a. Batwoman, as she'll appear in the upcoming Arrowverse crossover "Elseworlds".

The costume was designed by Oscar-winner Colleen Atwood, who is no stranger to making superheroes look good, having worked on Supergirl, Arrow, and both the original and reboot of The Tick.

Rose will make her debut as the popular Gotham City hero in this year's three-night Arrowverse crossover "Elseworlds", which will include Arrow, The Flash, and Supergirl.

The CW has released, via THR, a first look image at their new Batwoman.

"Growing up watching TV, I never saw somebody that I identified with, let alone a superhero", Rose told Jimmy Fallon during an appearance on The Tonight Show back in August, adding her casting is a "game changer". The character then went on to acclaimed runs in Detective Comics and her own self-titled series which was published by DC. If everything goes according to plan, Rose will also headline her own Batwoman series as the network is now developing a stand-alone series around the character, too.

"Whenever you're bringing change about in any form, there are always conversations that happen". "[Ruby] is terrific in the role, and we're excited for people to see the story".

There are a few other things we know about the crossover.

The annual Arrowverse crossover event begins filming October 29 and will kick off on the CW Sunday, Dec. 9 at 8 PM ET.

In the comics, Kate Kane is a brilliant fighter and strategist, inspired by Batman and utilizing her training from the military academy that she attended as a young woman.
