Star Trek Discovery season two will kick off on 17 January 2019, CBS confirmed at New York Comic Con.

Fans also saw new casting addition Rebecca Romijn as Number One and returning star Michelle Yeoh, who plays Philippa Georgiou aka Section 31's new recruit.

When asked if we'd see any other classic characters like Spock on the show, Kurtzman conceded, heavily hinting that the Talosians might be making an appearance on Discovery. "There's a conversation of science vs. faith and what does faith mean?" said Kurtzman.

One major thing to look out for in the two-plus minute sneak peek: a first look at Ethan Peck as a bearded Spock. "Later on, I found out who it was and was like, 'Oh my gosh'".

Martin-Green said Ethan is "just so good! He called it the 'red angel'". "And Spock has seen this Red Angel in an earlier moment in his life". After a trip into the Mirror Universe, encounters with the pirate Harry Mudd, and other galactic highjinks, Discovery ends the season by running into the U.S.S. Enterprise, commanded by Captain Christopher Pike out in deep space. So what's next for him? Doug Jones revealed that we will get more backstory on his character of Saru, and even meet his sister.

A writer who loves any medium that can take him away from the real world. They find a ship with one survivor, played by comedian Tig Notoro.

"When they fit me, they fit me in the original gold uniform from Enterprise because Discovery takes place 10 years before the original series", she said.

Mary Chieffo said L'Rell is now the Klingon Chancellor but the male Klingons aren't happy being led by a woman. Hence, in a time of war the Klingons would shave their heads. And now in Season 2 their hair is growing back. "And the first and simplest way you can do that is by making sure you're registered to vote". Or in the spore network? Check back in January, but in the meantime Cruz reminded the NYCC crowd that we in the USA have an election in November and that "we have to save each other".
