The Google Pixel 3 and 3 XL were revealed yesterday and ZDNet's Jason Cipriani posted his five reasons to pick the Pixel.

The Pixel 3 has a 5.5-inch 18:9 screen with a 1080 x 2160 resolution.

We'll have to wait and see if it all works as advertised. The primary thing to note is that Google has made a decision to stick with the single rear shooter of 12.2MP similar to the previous Pixel 2. The Note 9 has 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 512GB internal storage with microSD card support for almost unlimited storage.

Furthermore, Google has included the Google Camera app on the Pixel Slate, so the product can be used for photography too. Likewise, Amazon just can't stop itself from trying to use its foothold in your home to get you to buy more things from its online store. "It allows us to maintain a level of understanding in our supply chain that we otherwise wouldn't have", Neal Mueller, Google's cloud marketing head, told Reuters past year.

The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are YouTube Signature devices. Google says this is so as to save battery power. The rear is still divided into matte and glass portions, although the matte part of the phone is much smoother than before. In fact, it doesn't bring numerous Pixel 3 features, including Playground.

Google is pushing the AI elements of its new phones. The 2018 version of Chromecast, also called Chromecast 3 by some, is priced at $35 in the U.S., which is the same price as that of Chromecast 2. Yes, not only is Google sticking to the same number of sensors as last year's models but they are sticking to the tradition of providing the same camera performance on each model. It also has dual speakers at the front of the device, but no headphone jack. As far as the camera goes, both devices have a 12.2MP single-lens rear camera with a f/1.8 aperture and 1.4μm.

BNN Bloomberg's Amanda Lang tells us her take on Google shutting down its Plus service following the disclosure of a bug that may have exposed their customers' personal information.

The idea is to create a Google ecosystem, where photos taken by your Android phone are automatically uploaded to the Hub so it can act as a digital photo frame, where you play music through YouTube, grab recipes through its search function, check out your daily schedule, and interact with your security cameras, video doorbell, thermostat, and smart lighting.

The zoom is now aided by a Super Res Zoom feature, which uses computation photography from the world of astronomy and scientific imaging to provide sharper details when you're zooming.

The fronts of the phones now have two separate cameras: an 8MP 28mm f/1.8 (35mm equiv.) standard one and an 8MP 19mm f/2.2 (35mm equiv.) wide-angle one. It will be available later as an update.

The Google Pixel 3 XL is priced at $899 for 64GB and $999 for 128GB while the Note 9 128GB is priced at $1099.

The Pixel 3's 64GB storage variant costs ₹71,000 ($958) in India, while the 128GB storage variant has a price tag of ₹80,000 ($1,080).

They will be sold in the US, Canada, and the UK. The Walmart-backed ecommerce portal is also asking consumers for their email to get notified when the product becomes available.
