Major League Baseball fines Machado $10K after running into Aguilar

The Brewers have one of the best bullpens in baseball, but it's the rotation that has produced unexpected heroes

According to Major League Baseball insider Ken Rosenthal, the Major League Baseball fined Machado an undisclosed amount for running into Aguilar. The amount of the fine has not been announced. The way he dragged his foot made it obvious it was intentional, and he was fortunate to not have injured Aguilar.

Aguilar wasn't happy about that.

Both benches and bullpens emptied, but no punches were thrown. Machado would later reach base in the 13th inning.

That wasn't enough to satisfy some members of the Brewers.

But Yelich and Travis Shaw, who called it "a pretty dirty play" and "not a mistake", responded with pointed criticism towards Machado. He also said a few other things.

Machado also said that he and Aguilar have been friends for years, calling the Brewers slugger a "great guy".

Aguilar declined to comment on Yelich's statements after the game and urged everyone to move on. "Once I saw they were attacking me, it was just kind of grind mode and do what you can to put the ball in play and try to end the game". If it's an accident, it's an accident; but on the replay to us, it clearly looks like you clearly go out of your way to step on someone.

Aguilar said the two talked it out after Machado singled in the 13th. If that's dirty, that's dirty. "I don't know. Call it what you want".

While with the Baltimore Orioles, Machado got brushed back with a pitch from Oakland A's hurler Fernando Abad in the eighth inning of game.

The latter happened in the 10th inning when Dodgers shortstop Manny Machado grounded out to Brewers shortstop Orlando Arcia. Machado's effort was also called into question after he failed to run out a ball in Game 2.

"I think it's seeing our guys persevere through that game", Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said.

Manny Machado incited a bench-clearing standoff on Tuesday night, then evoked some extremely harsh words from the Milwaukee Brewers clubhouse.

What caused the minor dust-up between Manny Machado and Jesus Aguilar.
