Bolsonaro made the vow yesterday via his official Twitter handle.

Speaking to the Israeli newspaper, Israel HaYom on Thursday Bolsonaro said that he had every intention of fulfilling his campaign promise to move the Brazilian embassy to Jerusalem from its present location in Tel Aviv.

In December, President Donald Trump reversed longstanding USA policy and recognized Jerusalem as the Israeli capital, prompting Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas to boycott his administration. We agreed that Brazil and the United States will work closely together on Trade, Military and everything else!

The embassy was officially transferred on May 14, with Guatemala and Paraguay following suit, though the latter announced last month it would return its embassy to Tel Aviv.

Jair Bolsonaro, a member of Brazil's Social Liberal Party (PSL, by its acronym in Portuguese), won the second and final round of the country's presidential election on Sunday 28 October and will take office on 1 January 2019, with the result expected to bring about various significant, though still uncertain, changes for South America's largest economy and most populous country. Israel occupies East Jerusalem since the 1967 war and has subsequently conducted its annexation, never recognized by the worldwide community.

The Palestinians regard the eastern sector of Jerusalem - which Israel annexed in the1967 Middle East war - as the capital of a future Palestine state.

Brazil's president-elect Jair Bolsonaro on Thursday said the defense ministry will be one of the "superministries" in his administration.

Bolsonaro has previously said he wants Moro to serve as his justice minister and eventually join the Supreme Court.

Abul-Gheit said Brazil had a "good reputation" for respecting worldwide law and enjoyed good relations with most Arab states based on mutual respect and cooperation.

Bolsonaro said industry insiders themselves had urged him to reconsider, fearing trade sanctions on their products from countries anxious over the health of the Amazon rainforest.

"There's an obvious impact from the consolidation of the presidential election", said Alex Agostini, an economist at credit-risk agency Austin Rating.

But although politicians of all stripes have fallen, Moro has been accused of being particularly merciless on the left - especially Lula, Brazil's president from 2003 to 2010.

John Bolton, Trump's national security adviser, has described Bolsonaro and Trump as "like-minded" individuals.
