Some Amazon customers in the Baltimore area may experience delivery delays while the company and its local warehouse owner assess the damage from Friday's tornado.

Two people are dead after a partial building collapse late Friday at an Amazon warehouse near Baltimore, the city's fire chief said.

"My condolences go out to the families and friends of the victims", Hogan said in a post on Twitter.

Severe storms with strong winds tore through much of Maryland on Friday evening.

In the South-Eastern part of Baltimore (Maryland) on Amazon sorting center on Friday, November 2, an emergency happened: partially collapsed one of the 50-foot (15 m) of the walls of the building.

It's unknown if they were Amazon employees or contractors, Clark said. Officials say a 50-foot wall at the warehouse collapsed.

Debris could be seen along Holabird Avenue at Broening Highway where the Amazon center is located, CBS Baltimore reports. They recovered the body of a second man on Saturday, Clark said. "The safety of our employees and contractors is our top priority and at this time the building remains closed", Lighty said in an email.

Images taken from outside the facility showed a badly damaged truck and a knocked over light pole, the Sun reports.

The National Weather Service confirmed Saturday that an EF2 tornado hit Halifax County Friday evening.

The tornado blew off a section of the roof of what Amazon calls its Baltimore sortation center, near the city's eastern border in Dundalk.
