You can understand why people would rather watch that live and find out who won Gold Gloves later.

The Rawlings Gold Glove Award was created in 1957, and since then the award has served as the highest symbol of defensive excellence in Major League Baseball. Former South Carolina coach Bobby Richardson won five Gold Gloves with the New York Yankees.

The awards were voted on by managers and coaches from the American and National Leagues, and honor the best individual fielding performances at each position in both leagues.

Mitch Moreland was also a finalist for Gold Glove at first base but was beaten out by Oakland's Matt Olson.

With the win, Greinke ties Ron Guidry, Phil Niekro and Kenny Rogers for seventh all-time among pitchers to win the award.

For the third time in his career, Keuchel went a full season without committing an error (also 2013, 2016), successfully handling 41 total chances with 27 assists in 34 starts in 2018.

Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina took home his ninth Gold Glove, unseating Giants backstop Buster Posey, while the Rockies' Nolan Arenado secured his sixth straight Gold Glove as an NL third baseman. "We play a lot of games throughout the season, and winning awards isn't what you strive for; the most important part to me is working to help my team win".

Each manager and up to six coaches on his staff vote from a pool of qualified players in their league, and can not vote for players on their own team. The winners will be selected via a combination of a national fan vote and the SABR Defensive Index.
