Fossil has just announced a new range of sporty smartwatches packed with features created to help you achieve a healthy and balanced lifestyle. Each Fossil Sport also has Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy and 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi. To leverage that claim, Fossil has now announced the Sport Smartwatch powered by the Snapdragon Wear 3100 platform.

More varied colour options, and more brightly coloured options at that, seems to be a trend this fall: in September, Apple introduced the iPhone XR, which comes in six bright colours.

The Fossil Sport features a sleek, ultra-lightweight design and colourful silicon straps. The smarwatch is available in two dial sizes - 41mm and 43mm - and offers 28 interchangeable silicone straps as well (they come in 18mm and 22mm sizes).

Online sales are underway today, followed by physical inventory headed to "select" Fossil retail stores around the world on November 12.

We've seen too many smartwatches come to market recently with Qualcomm's two-year-old Snapdragon Wear 2100. But the Sport runs on the new 3100 SoC, which should provide noticeable improvements in battery life and performance.

The watch houses a 350 mAh battery, and the company says you should be able to get more than a day's worth of battery life out of the device. The new OS has a better shortcuts menu, better-looking and easier to read notifications, improved gestures, Google Assistant built in, and a totally redesigned Google Fit app.
