Tragic news for Tamera Mowry-Housley and her husband Adam as the couple revealed that their niece Alaina Housley was one of the victims in the Thousand Oaks mass shooting late Wednesday night.

Mowry-Housely responded: "Ashely this is her aunt Tamera Mowry Housley. Can you please DM me your information?" she wrote. The exchange is pretty heartbreaking.

Ashley had earlier tweeted: 'Ashley tweeted: 'My suitemate is still missing, she is wearing denim shorts, a blue flannel and sneakers, pls let me know if you know anything #Borderline'.

Alaina Housley, 18, was killed after suspected gunman Ian David Long, 28, opened fire upon a crowd at Borderline Bar & Grill in Thousand Oaks, Calif., authorities said.

Confirming Alaina as a victim in the tragedy, Tamera told TMZ: 'Our hearts are broken.

The Los Angeles Times reports that Housley tried to look for his niece at the Los Robles Regional Medical Center around 3:30 a.m. on Thursday but was turned away and told the hospital was on lockdown.

The former Fox News correspondent has previously covered mass shootings in his career as a television reporter.

She shared a photo on Instagram of the sisters and Alaina in the bridal party at Mowry-Housley's wedding in 2011. Tia also confirmed the news with a heartbreaking tweet on November 8, writing, "Our sweet Alaina Housley is gone".

Alaina is a freshman at Pepperdine. The Real co-host even asked one follower who she believed knew a bit more about Alaina's whereabouts to share their direct message information with her. "Her Apple Watch and iPhone still showed her location on the dance floor".

According to the Napa Valley Register, Alaina graduated from Vintage High a year ago, before becoming a student at Pepperdine University, where her suitemate had tweeted a photo of her earlier in the day, saying she hadn't come home from the bar.

Mowry-Housely's twin sister, actress Tia Mowry, also tweeted about the missing student.

We're hoping and praying that Tamera and Adam's niece is found safe.
