Report Dez Bryant helped off the practice field with injury

Dez Bryant #88 of the Dallas Cowboys walks off the field after their 20-17 win over the Oakland Raiders during their National Football League game at Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum on December 17, 2017 in Oakland, California.

The often-outspoken but extremely talented wide receiver, who had played his whole professional career with the Dallas Cowboys, finally signed with the New Orleans Saints this past week.

Dez Bryant suffered an injury during practice Friday afternoon according to NFL Network and NFL.com reporter Tom Pelissero. "He's getting an MRI now". However, during practice on Friday, Bryant went down with a what was initially reported as just a "lower leg injury".

The WR - who just signed with the Saints earlier this week - was running a route when he collapsed.

Payton said he spoke to Bryant before the draft and any interest was put on hold when the team drafted Tre'Quan Smith.

Bryant was not expected to play this Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals as coach Sean Payton wanted to him to get in better shape by dropping five pounds and also have more time to get a grasp of the offense.

This is a developing story.
