"Flu vaccine is the best way to protect both children and adults from serious complications, hospitalization, and in many cases, death".

Influenza is a contagious disease caused by one of a number of related viruses. "We urge everyone in Sevier County who has not received a flu shot yet to get one now, and this event is a great time to do it".

To find a location to get a flu shot in your community, check with your health care provider or local health department.

With National Influenza Vaccination Week (NIVW) in full swing, customers can visit their neighborhood Rite Aid pharmacy without an appointment to get their seasonal flu shot from a certified Rite Aid immunizing pharmacist and help themselves stay healthy this holiday season.

Influenza antiviral drugs can be a second line of defense for treatment of some who get sick with the flu.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that everyone age 6 months and older get a flu vaccine each year.

Flu is typically spread by droplets when someone with the flu talks, coughs, or sneezes. This flu vaccine was made just for senior citizens to give them better protection from the flu while covering 4 common strains of the flu virus.

Flu symptoms include fever, cough, sore throat, muscle and body aches and fatigue. The virus can live on hard surfaces for several hours, and it can be spread from surfaces such as toys and doorknobs that an infected person has touched recently. "The very young, pregnant women, elderly, and those with certain underlying health problems are at higher risk to have serious flu-related complications". That, without a doubt, is a flu shot.

It is especially important for those who are ill to avoid coming into contact with those in hospitals and long-term care facilities, because they are more likely to have weaker immune systems.
