Arsenal stars Mesut Ozil, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and teenager Matteo Guendouzi found themselves in the spotlight after they were filmed using "Hippy Crack" at a nightclub.

Nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas or "hippy crack", is freely available, but it is technically illegal to sell it for recreational purposes.

Video footage seems to show Ozil and the others collapsing onto sofas, apparently semi conscious or even unconscious, after inhaling the nitrous oxide.

The incident occurred in a London nightclub before the start of the season.

While it is not illegal to possess nitrous oxide, inhaling large quantities can lead to people becoming unconscious and has been linked with a small number of deaths.

Arsenal midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who joined from Manchester United in the January transfer window, also attended the party but did not inhale the gas.

An Arsenal spokesperson told the BBC players would be "spoken to and reminded of their responsibilities".

The Gunners are unbeaten in 20 matches in all competitions and take on Huddersfield in the Premier League on Saturday.

Arsenal, under new manager Unai Emery, are now fifth in the Premier League table and are unbeaten in 20 consecutive matches in all competitions.
