So Long Bowsette, Only Toadette Can Wear the Super Crown

The information comes from Nintendo themselves on the official New Super Mario Bros. This isn't new from Nintendo as the company has provided handicap options for players needing an extra helping hand such as Super Kong in Donkey Kong Country Returns and the Silver Tanooki Suit in Super Mario 3D Land.

"When Toadette finds one of these, she can transform into the super-powered Peachette".

Upon discovering the description, gamers and artists were left somewhat disappointed, especially those who contributed a wealth of Bowsette fan art over the last few months that helped propel the character to social media stardom. Essentially, Bowsette is an alternative version of Princess Peach who has been merged with Bowser, dreamt up thanks to the inclusion of the transforming Super Crown item in Mario's next adventure on Switch. We also try out the new Toadette/Peachette character which is super fun. U Deluxe, a repackaging of the Wii U launch title with all bonus "Year of Luigi" content included, as well as some new a playable Toadette. The Super Crown spread ever further, reaching into fan cosplays and My Little Pony transformations. U Deluxe, only Toadette can wear the Super Crown (via ResetEra), making all imaginings of other characters wearing the Super Crown officially not approved by Nintendo. It became the new Rule 34 for basically anything to ever exist, leading to some hilarious interpretations and jokes about the Super Mario Bros. series item. U Deluxe coming out for Nintendo Switch on January 11.
