Wolves would hope to win the day by offering a Portuguese contingent to help him settle in England - which can be very tough for mid-season arrivals - and a greater degree of gametime than he might expect in competition with World Cup victor Olivier Giroud at Stamford Bridge.

Morata has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this month, with the likes of Sevilla understood to have identified him as a potential transfer target.

They sit third in the table at present, seven points behind Barcelona as we approach the half-way stage, and are a strong contender to go all the way and win a fourth Europa League in six years.

Chelsea are close to making a shock bid for Real Madrid striker and superstar Karim Benzema, The Mirror reports.

Morata missed the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg against Tottenham on Tuesday night, although this was through injury rather than any imminent move. But Maurizio Sarri has preferred to deploy Eden Hazard in the false nine role in recent weeks.

And his lack of celebration after scoring two goals against Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup on Saturday has seen some suggest he would rather be anywhere else than Chelsea.

"It is more important to score than celebrate".

Quite where Morata would fit into the pecking order at Sevilla is unknown, with Wissam Ben Yedder and Andre Silva having netted 24 goals between them in all competitions this season.
