Don Lemon Responds To Kevin Hart Saying He Doesn't Want To Be An LGBT Ally

The US comedian and actor pulled out of hosting the award ceremony in December amid controversy over homophobic tweets he posted nearly a decade ago. Hart seemed taken aback by the news, and said that he'd keep an open mind about hosting. When asked by Colbert if he knew who his replacement would be, Hart said he didn't know because he wasn't "on the email list".

Appearing on "Good Morning America," he said he simply wasn't doing it, and was done apologizing for irrelevant social media remarks.

On Wednesday, however, Hart shut down speculation that he would host the annual awards show. Variety quotes unnamed sources as saying producers of the ceremony are going to tap various A-listers to introduce segments, giving us the equivalent of lots of mini-hosts instead of one emcee.

Kevin Hart has said he definitely won't come back on board as host of the Oscars this year. There was a possibility of Hart coming back if the Academy felt his appearance on Ellen DeGeneres' show revealed true remorse, but Hart once again played the victim card as opposed to offering any kind of a genuine apology.

Hart, a previous Oscars presenter, stepped down as host of the February 24 show on December 6, days after the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences selected him following a prolonged search amid declining ratings for the annual broadcast. "You've done it. Don't let those people win - host the Oscars".

The Oscars has only gone without a single host once before, in 1989 when actor Rob Lowe performed a duet with Snow White - which he is reportedly still embarrassed about.

"I'm over it", he told Strahan.

"I'm over that. I'm over the moment, and I'm about today", Hart said. Some things are left out of your hands, so I'm done with it. "I'm going to be me; I'm going to stand my ground".

That doesn't mean he's shutting down the possibility of hosting the Oscars another year.

Hollywood superstar Chris Rock isn't coming to the Academy Awards' rescue. "It's a choice that I've personally made to say I'm not addressing it anymore".

But, of course, there was still some time, right?
