iPhone 11 Max rumored to have a triple-lens camera

This means the 2019 flagship iPhones will be differentiated in more than size, unlike the 2019 iPhone XS series, which featured the exact same camera systems on both the regular and Max model.

The US company plans to release a large iPhone with a triple rear camera and two smaller iPhones with double rear cameras later this year, it was reported.

According to the Wall Street Journal's sources, the firm will be implementing a triple camera system on the highest end iPhone - presumably the iPhone XS Max successor.

"We think 2019 could be the past year the iPhone uses the iPhone X design architecture, in preparation for initial hardware specs for 5G (sub-6GHz) and AR (augmented reality), before greater architecture upgrades in 2020F for 5G and a more comprehensive AR system", she added.

Apple apparently couldn't ditch the LCD display this year because the planning stages are already too far along for this year's releases, making big changes like a swap of the display panel infeasible.

Last year, Apple released the most expensive iPhone in its history.

Though Apple won't debut its new 2019 iPhones for another nine months, the company is already well into the development cycle for them. Apart from the camera and a faster processor, we are likely going to see Apple debut some AR features with the devices as well. By 2020, however, the company reportedly plans to switch to an all OLED lineup. The smartphones could be revealed by Apple in September, when it regularly shows off its latest new models. Cook, in a letter to the investors, announced that Apple was cutting the quarterly revenue for the final fiscal quarter for 2018.

"Apple has always been a laggard in cellular technology", said Mark Hung, an analyst at Gartner, told Bloomberg.

If that's what Apple considers taking it up to XI, we'll stick with ten.

Apple oracle Ming Chi-Kuo is the latest to offer up some premature predictions about what we can expect from the devices.
